Great cell counts and images!
My lab is studying the underlying mechanisms driving tumor growth in endometrial cancer. A lot of the work is studying the genomics of the disease. As a result, we perform great bits of analysis on cells, but also nuclei, which are hard to effectively count with trypan blue. The Luna-FL Dual Fluorescence Cell Counter has given us reproducible data and high-quality cell count.

You can count on it.
Intuitive and easy to use. Reproducible mammalian cell count and viability with acridine orange and propidium iodide. User can choose between disposable plastic and reusable glass chamber. Not the best choice for GFP transfection assay if your signal is weak.

Very handy for a busy cell culturing lab.
The LUNA-FL is a very handy instrument to have. Lots of functions for such a small piece of equipment. I especially love that it collates all data and comparative graphing at the end of each count, making data analysis a lot easier after a long lab session.

Robust results. Quicker than manual counting but far more expensive.
I was able to obtain good agreement between the PI channel of the Luna FL and my own manual haemocytometer counting of nuclei stained with DAPI at a fraction of the time. One caveat would be false ‘viability’ given from background staining of AO on tissue debris but it could be useful in determining the level of debris from the isolation.

Easy, Reproducibility and accuracy!
With disposable counting slides, the cell counter is quick and straight forward and does not require prior training. With ability to directly visualize florescence with ease makes it ideal for every cell biology Lab which essentially is all life sciences labs. It’s absolutely value for money and I’d highly recommend.

It is great when you have to analyze several samples every day.
