THE SOFTWARE THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING.
INNOVATIVE COUNTING PROCESS ENSURES ACCURATE COUNTS
-
Staining
QUANTOM™ Total Cell Staining Dye easily permeates both gram positive and gram negative bacteria to stain both live and dead cells. QUANTOM™ Viable Cell Staining Dye efficiently labels viable bacteria.
-
Immobilizing
Stained cells are mixed with our bacteria-optimized loading buffer, loaded into QUANTOM™ M50 Cell Counting Slides, and spun in the QUANTOM™ Centrifuge to immobilize and evenly distribute the cells throughout the counting chamber to ensure accurate cell counts.
-
Counting
The QUANTOM Tx™ captures up to 10 high resolution images and counts the cells in each. The highly sophisticated software can distinguish individual cells in various arrangements such as tight clusters or in sequence to produce accurate and reliable total bacterial cell counts.

Overall, we are very satisfied with the platform. It is a mainstay of our workflow.
We use the Logos QUANTOM Tx (QTx) to enumerate various species of bacteria grown in liquid media. Prior to purchasing the QTx, enumeration was done via the spread-plate method. The rapid quantitation afforded by the QTx allows us to have a result in as little as 30 minutes, compared to 3 days for the spread-plate method. We have also found the QTx useful for determining the proportion of live/dead cells within a sample. The simplicity and ease of use of the QTx allows for rapid training of new operators and excellent repeatability. In addition, Logos' after-sales service has been exceptional. -

Makes it possible to discover membrane active components.
Easy to handle, although I just started using the instrument and I have the impression I can do more with it. We are using it to count simple bacterial cells which we need to do in order to start antibacterial susceptibility assays. The drugs which we test against diverse bacterial cells are membrane active. Therefore, total as well as live/dead assays provide additional information for us. If there was a future upgrade for this instrument, I would definitely think about including optical filters for different wavelengths covering a broader fluorescence range. Then we could play with difference membrane permeable/impermeable dyes. -

The QUANTOM Tx is extremely user-friendly with a beautiful, intuitive interface.
The entire process from start to finish is very quick, so we were able to gather a lot of data in a short amount of time. We mastered the staining protocol very quickly, and even the more inexperienced members of our research group were able to use the machine properly with ease. We were blown away by the quality of the images we received, even in mixed cultures of bacteria gathered from various biological samples! -

Great results. I am very happy with the instrument.
The instrument is very easy to use. The sample prep is quick and the the replicates are pretty tight. I used it for counting very small cells, as well as bacteria that grow in chains or clusters and the software does a great job analyzing the image. I compared the results to other methods and the results are spot on. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase.
