Neurons are functional units in a three-dimensional network. The connection at synapses is critical for normal neural function such as cognition, learning, memory, and emotion. Deterioration of this connectivity is the cause of diseases like Alzheimer’s disease. Amyloid plaques are the accumulation of proteins, including amyloid, in the brain and are a hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease. However, the circuit level understanding of amyloid plaques is limited. In this presentation, Dr. Choe will talk about the utilization of DeepLabel™ immunostaining coupled with tissue clearing to unveil the three-dimensional aspects of neural circuit damage in brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

Onsite registration is required.
